Begin with the visitor-center exhibits, then walk into the preserved river town to connect Boone's Lick settlement, Santa Fe trade, slavery, and George Caleb Bingham's Missouri. Grounds remain open beyond the indoor exhibit hours.
Battle of Lexington State Historic SiteWalk the battlefield where Missouri State Guard troops pushed hemp bales up the ravines toward Union earthworks, then see the Anderson House's surviving bullet and cannon scars. The grounds are self-guided during daylight, but house and battlefield tours follow a seasonal schedule.
