Stylized illustration, not a photo — the real place looks different (and that’s half the fun).

A 469-mile ribbon of overlooks, mile-high tunnels, and split-rail fences connecting two national parks — no billboards, no trucks, just the spine of the Appalachians.

Why drive it

America’s favorite drive, ridge to ridge.

It’s a road built purely for the view, and in October the fall color makes it the most beautiful drive east of the Mississippi.

What to pull over for.

The best stops on the Blue Ridge Parkway are the places that define the drive, not just the nearest towns. Roamward orders them for the road: start with Crabtree Falls (VA), Mabry Mill, Linn Cove Viaduct, Grandfather Mountain, then open each stop guide for the pull-over context.
