Comal River

Texas

TypeOutdoors
CategoryRiver Tubing

Spring-fed and 72 degrees year-round, the Comal is one of the shortest navigable rivers in America — about 2.5 miles entirely inside New Braunfels — and Texas' favorite lazy float. Put in at Prince Solms Park, ride the City Tube Chute, and drift for roughly two hours.

The whole river is a city-limits float: rental outfitters sit steps from the Prince Solms Park put-in, the City Tube Chute is lifeguarded in season (weekends from May, daily June to mid-August), and the constant spring temperature makes it swimmable even in high summer.
