A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway
Ponte Vedra Beach → Flagler Beach, FL · ~72 miles · half to full day
This 72-mile All-American Road follows Florida’s Highway A1A down the Atlantic coast through St. Johns and Flagler counties — past beaches, dunes, and salt marsh, and through St. Augustine, the oldest continuously occupied European-founded city in the United States.
Good to know: Flat and easy, but hurricane season (June–Nov) can bring storms and beach-road washouts, and St. Augustine’s old town gets crowded on holidays.
Florida’s Atlantic coast past the oldest U.S. city.
A breezy coastal cruise anchored by St. Augustine — Spanish forts, a candy-striped lighthouse, and 1565 history by the sea.
