Tucked into the historic Nassau Inn off Princeton’s Palmer Square, the Yankee Doodle Tap Room keeps a secret most travelers never expect over a pint: a 13-foot Norman Rockwell original, painted in 1937 and the largest mural the artist ever made. Commissioned by Edgar Palmer and painted onto canvas bonded to the wall — it can’t be moved without dismantling the masonry, so it has hung right there above the bar for nearly a century.
