Partington Cove (Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park)

California

TypeHistory
CategoryTrails Hikes

A gated fire road drops to a hand-cut tunnel blasted through solid rock in the 1880s — walk through it and you come out at a hidden cove that once loaded tanbark and, according to local lore, Prohibition-era liquor onto waiting ships. Two miles north of the McWay Falls entrance, with none of its crowds.

Same state park as the already-featured McWay Falls but a completely different, free, low-traffic experience — widens the value of a Julia Pfeiffer Burns stop without duplicating the existing route-page entry. Strong smuggling-history hook for the story feed.
